Gravel driveway installation

New stone drives, rebuilds and regrading — cut to a stable subgrade, crowned to shed water, and topped with the gradation that actually holds up to the traffic it carries.

What we do

Scope of work.

  • New gravel driveway installation
  • Driveway rebuild and regrading
  • Culvert and drainage crossing
  • Crushed stone delivery and placement
  • Pothole repair and resurfacing
  • Turnaround and parking area expansion

• How we approach it

A drive fails from
the bottom up.

Stone spread over a soft, uncrowned subgrade turns back into mud in one season. The subgrade gets cut and shaped first, water gets somewhere to go, and then the stone goes down in lifts.

Questions

Gravel driveway installation — FAQ

How much does a gravel driveway cost?

It depends on length, width, how much the subgrade needs to be cut and shaped, whether a culvert is involved and the stone section. Give us the approximate dimensions and we will put a real number on it rather than a per-foot guess.

What stone should a driveway use?

A compacted base course with a finer surface course over it holds up far better than a single dump of loose stone. The right section depends on what drives on it — passenger vehicles and a farm truck are two different drives.

Do you install culverts?

Yes. Culverts, drive crossings and roadside ditch work are normal parts of a drive job, and where the county has a right-of-way permit requirement that gets handled before the work starts.
